I added a meta description tag to my Posterous. Thank you @talsh

In viewing "page source" on several big time Posterous blogs I noticed that they didn't have meta tags. On my last post about editing Posterous, I asked Tal Shafik about enabling meta title and description tags on Posterous and he gave me the tip to add tags in "enable advanced theming" mode. You can only do this for the blog itself, not for the individual posts.

To get there:

Go to "Manage", click on the little arrow on the "Post by email" button, and click "Theme my site". There you click on Advanced, and "Enable advanced theming".

For the time being I decided to leave the title tag alone.

I added a description meta tag below the title tag in the default theme. You'll find the title tag just below "style" and above "head" and "body".

Need-less-to-say what you should really be doing here is customizing your theme. Posterous has a theming reference page.

Here is a Posterous google dev group and the Posterize forum.

Happy Posterizing.
