“Selective Tweets” has been obsoleted by @Hootsuite @Tweetdeck post to Facebook option – I tweeted.
If you are using or thought about using the third party “Selective Tweets” Facebook application…..
Both HootSuite and TweetDeck allow you to choose which tweets to send to status update on Facebook. I am able to import my Twitter lists on both of these platforms so I have been defaulting over here lately.
It appears that Seesmic has the selectively post to Facebook option as well. But on my first attempt to make the connection, it did not connect properly. I have a question into @askseesmic on how to disconnect and try again.
There is a lot I like about Seesmic but importing Twitter lists doesn’t appear to be fully functioning yet?
UPDATE:
@askseesmic answered me immediately: “go to the configuration menu * button on bottom left – under accts, click facebook and click minus button – then save”
I have now confirmed that selective posting to Facebook on Seesmic is available as well.
UPDATE 2:
It may seem counter-intuitive but you must OK “post to Facebook without prompting me” during Facebook connect or you will get an error on Seesmic when you try to send a tweet (even though select Facebook option has shown up as below).
When Seesmic is set up, you will see this type of image when you check the boxes for both Twitter and Facebook. As with Hootsuite and Tweetdeck, it is simple to leave Facebook unchecked/unselected except when you want to post your update to both Facebook and Twitter.
UPDATE 3
Christina Warren (@film_girl) wrote about HootSuite’s integration of Facebook on Mashable November 24, 2009.
Update 2014:
I was searching for a post.ly tweet to demonstrate what my tweets to posterous looked like. I know how most of it looked as the subject of my emails became the headlines of my posts. But sadly though Twitter has indexed much, I don’t get results in search for 2009, 2010 tweets that included post.ly. At least I do have emails to Posterous remaining from that era. What did pop up was this tweet ABOUT Posterous in 2010:
@LindaSherman thanks linda!
